Amanda has always loved books. Before she could even talk, she would cry in her cot for another bedtime story. The walls of her happy home were lined with bookshelves, and evenings were spent around the fireplace listening to her mother read.

A highlight of country life was the arrival of the library van; every month Amanda and her sister would stagger down its steps with arms full of books.

One year during primary school she read 300 novels, everything from Enid Blyton to Jane Austen. 

It’s no wonder she’s passionate about sharing the joy of reading.
